Theoretical Foundation

The various workshops presented within our training programme are based on what can be termed an integrative interactional approach to the field of psychotherapy.  As such, our training is not confined to the limitations of a single theoretical school or approach.  The emphasis is on interactional psychotherapy where the focus is placed on observable patterns of interaction between individuals and the social and physical environment.

In our integrative approach we include the essentials of General Systems Theory, Communications Theory, the Humanistic Approach, the Psychodynamic Approach and Behaviourism.  For further information see the section on Resources.
